About Bridge Service
A dental bridge is a fixed restoration used to replace one or more missing teeth by using the natural teeth next to the gap for support. The teeth on either side (abutment teeth) are prepared for crowns, which connect to the replacement tooth (pontic) in the middle, forming one solid cemented unit.
Bridges can be crafted from porcelain, zirconia, gold, or a combination. With good oral hygiene and protection from grinding (nightguard use), a bridge can last 10–15 years or longer.
Procedure: Two Appointments
First
Abutment teeth shaped, digital scan taken, temporary bridge placed.
Second (~2 weeks later)
Permanent bridge tried in, adjusted, and cemented.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a dental bridge last?
On average, 10–15 years, but with excellent oral care it can last much longer.
Will the bridge look natural?
Yes. Bridges are custom-made to match the color, shape, and size of your surrounding teeth.
Can I eat normally with a bridge?
Once cemented and adjusted to, you can eat most foods. Avoid very hard or sticky foods to prolong its life.
How do I care for my bridge?
Brush and floss daily using floss threaders to reach underneath the bridge. Maintain regular dental visits.
Are there alternatives to a bridge?
Yes—dental implants or removable partial dentures may be options depending on your case.
