Everything you need to know before your visit.

We want every visit to feel simple, clear, and stress-free. Here are some common questions to help you feel more prepared before coming to The Dental Lounge.
Do I need to be a patient to book an appointment?

No. We welcome both new and existing patients. Whether you’re looking for a new family dentist, need a routine checkup, or have a specific dental concern, our team is happy to help. Contact us to schedule your first visit, and we’ll guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have before your appointment.

Your first visit is all about getting to know you and your oral health needs. We’ll begin with a comprehensive examination, digital X-rays if needed, and a discussion about your dental history, concerns, and goals. After reviewing your oral health, we’ll explain our findings, answer your questions, and create a personalized treatment plan that’s tailored to your needs—without pressure.

Yes. We understand that dental emergencies can happen unexpectedly and often require prompt attention. Whether you’re experiencing a severe toothache, a broken tooth, swelling, or a dental injury, our team will do our best to see you as soon as possible and provide the care you need to relieve discomfort and protect your oral health.

Your comfort is one of our highest priorities. We use modern techniques, gentle care, and effective local anesthesia to help make treatment as comfortable as possible. Our team will explain each step of your visit, answer your questions, and adjust your care to help you feel relaxed and at ease throughout your appointment.

The Dental Lounge was created to redefine the dental experience. From thoughtfully designed interiors and advanced technology to a warm, welcoming team, every detail is focused on your comfort. We believe exceptional dentistry is about more than treating teeth—it’s about building lasting relationships, providing personalized care, and helping every patient feel confident about their smile.

Looking for a Dentist Near You in Windsor?

The Dental Lounge is at 4140 Walker Road in Windsor, and we see patients from across Windsor and Essex County, including Tecumseh, LaSalle, Amherstburg, Essex, McGregor and Belle River. We are open Monday and Tuesday from 10am to 7pm, and Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 5pm. Call 519-250-1290 to book.

Walk Ins Are Welcome

You do not need an appointment, a referral, or to be an existing patient. Walk in during office hours and we will see you. More on walk in visits.

Saturday Appointments from 3 October 2026

From Saturday 3 October 2026 we are open Saturdays from 9am to 2pm, on top of our weekday hours. If a weekday appointment has been the thing stopping you from booking, this is the one to call about.

Accepting New Patients in Windsor

We are taking new patients of every age. A first visit covers a medical and dental history review, a comprehensive oral exam, digital X-rays to whatever your insurance covers, a gum and periodontal assessment, a cleaning and polish, oral hygiene guidance, and a written breakdown of any planned treatment and its cost before anything is started. We bill insurance directly, accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan, and offer payment plans.

Dental Cleanings and Hygiene in Windsor

A cleaning removes the plaque and tartar a toothbrush cannot reach, and gives us the chance to catch a small problem while it is still small. For most new patients the first visit is the cleaning visit. More on dental cleanings.

Family Dentistry for Every Age

One clinic for the whole household, from a child’s first visit to a grandparent’s denture fit. Our Monday and Tuesday evenings run to 7pm, which is usually the easiest slot for a family to book together. More on general dentistry.

Children's Dentistry

Short, calm first visits built around getting a child comfortable in the chair before any treatment is needed. We explain what we are doing to the child, not only to the parent. More on children’s dentistry.

Emergency Dental Care in Windsor

A broken tooth, a lost filling, swelling, or pain that will not settle. We keep same-day room for emergencies during office hours, Monday and Tuesday to 7pm and Wednesday and Thursday to 5pm, and from 3 October 2026 on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm. Outside those hours, a dental emergency with facial swelling or trouble breathing should go to a hospital emergency department. More on emergency care.

Fillings

A filling repairs a tooth where decay has taken hold, before it reaches the nerve and turns into a larger job. More on fillings.

Dental Crowns and Bridges

A crown rebuilds a tooth that is cracked or heavily filled. A bridge fills the gap where a tooth has already gone, using the teeth on either side as support. Crowns and bridges.

Root Canal Treatment

When decay or a crack reaches the nerve, a root canal clears the infection and keeps the tooth in place rather than removing it. It is done under freezing, and most patients describe it as similar to having a filling. More on root canals.

Tooth Extraction

Sometimes a tooth cannot be saved, or a wisdom tooth is crowding the ones beside it. We take it out under local anaesthetic and go through what replaces it, if anything needs to. More on extractions.

Dental Implants

An implant replaces the root of a missing tooth, so the replacement tooth is anchored in bone rather than resting on the gum. More on implants.

Dentures

Full and partial dentures, fitted and adjusted here on Walker Road, including relines and repairs for dentures made elsewhere. More on dentures.

Clear Aligners

Clear aligners straighten teeth using a series of removable trays instead of fixed hardware. Treatment is provided by our general dentists. More on clear aligners.

Teeth Whitening

In-clinic and take-home whitening. We check first that the shade change you are hoping for is achievable on your teeth, and say so if it is not. More on whitening.

Veneers and Bonding

Veneers and bonding reshape chipped, worn or uneven front teeth. Bonding is usually done in one visit; veneers take two. Veneers and bonding.

Night Guards

A custom night guard protects the teeth of anyone who grinds or clenches while asleep, and often settles the morning jaw ache that comes with it. More on night guards.

Dental Lasers

We use dental lasers for some gum and soft tissue treatment, which for the right procedure means less bleeding and a faster settle afterwards. More on dental lasers.

Tooth Pain That Will Not Settle

Pain that wakes you, throbs, or lingers after something hot or cold is a sign the nerve is involved, and it does not resolve on its own. Call 519-250-1290 during office hours, or walk in.

A Missing Tooth

A gap lets the teeth on either side drift and changes how you bite. An implant, a bridge or a partial denture each solve it differently, and we lay out the cost of each before you choose.

Bleeding or Sore Gums

Gums that bleed when you brush are inflamed, and left alone that inflammation reaches the bone holding the teeth in. It is treatable, and the earlier it is caught the less there is to treat.

Nervous About the Dentist

Plenty of our patients have not been in years, often because of a bad experience somewhere else. Tell us at the front desk and we will go at your pace, explain before we do anything, and stop when you ask.

Coverage and Cost

We bill most insurance plans directly, accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan, and offer payment plans. You get the cost of any treatment in writing before it starts.
