The Dental Lounge accepts walk in patients at 4140 Walker Rd in Windsor. You do not need an appointment, and you do not need to be an existing patient. Come in during our open hours and we will see what we can do for you the same day.
Call or text 519-250-1290 before you set off if you can. A two minute call tells us you are coming, tells you roughly how long the wait is, and lets us have your paperwork ready when you arrive. If you would rather just come in, that is fine too.
We are open Saturdays 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM starting October 3.

We are closed Friday and Sunday. Saturday walk in hours start on October 3, so we are closed the Saturdays before then. We would rather tell you that plainly than have you drive to a locked door. If you are in pain on a weekend, there is a section further down this page on what to do.
Monday and Tuesday evenings run until 7:00 PM, so if you cannot get away from work during the day, those are the two days to aim for. The last walk in each day needs to arrive with enough time left for us to actually treat you, so earlier in the day is always better than later.
You do not need to be an existing patient
Plenty of people who walk through our door have never been here before. Some have not seen a dentist in years. Some have a dentist but could not get in quickly enough. Some have just moved to Windsor. None of that is a problem, and nobody is going to lecture you about it.
You do not need a referral. You do not need your old records in hand, though if you have them or know where they are, it helps. If you have insurance, bring the card or the details.
Dental pain that should not wait
Come in during our open hours if you have any of the following:
- Toothache that keeps you awake or that painkillers are not touching
- A broken, chipped or cracked tooth
- A tooth that has been knocked out
- A lost filling or a crown that has come off
- Swelling in the gum, jaw or face
- Bleeding that will not settle
- A denture or appliance that has broken or is cutting you
Facial swelling, especially swelling that is spreading or affecting your eye or your breathing, is the one to take seriously. If you cannot breathe or swallow properly, go to an emergency room rather than waiting for a dental office to open.
What happens when you walk in
We will take your details and a short medical and dental history, then get you into a chair for an exam. If we need an X ray to see what is going on, we take one here with a digital sensor.
Then we tell you what we have found, in plain language, and what the options are. You get a written breakdown of what is planned and what it costs before any treatment starts. If something needs doing today because it is painful or getting worse, we will deal with it today where we can. If it is better handled at a longer booked appointment, we will say that and get you into the book.
Sometimes the honest answer is that the right fix takes more time than a walk in slot allows. In that case we settle the pain, explain what is going on, and schedule the proper repair.
Paying for it
We accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) and the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP), and we bill all major insurance plans directly, so in most cases you are not paying the full amount up front and waiting to be reimbursed.
If you have no coverage, say so at the front desk. We will tell you what things cost before we do them, and we offer payment plans. Nobody should be sitting at home in pain because they are afraid of a bill they have not even been quoted yet.

Patients come to us from across Windsor and Essex County, including Tecumseh, LaSalle, Amherstburg, Essex, McGregor and Belle River. If you are driving in from one of the towns, calling or texting ahead is worth it so you are not sitting in a waiting room longer than the drive took.
If we are closed
We are closed Friday and Sunday, and outside the hours above. Saturday hours start on October 3. If you are in pain when we are closed:
- Text us at 519-250-1290 or email info@dentallounge.ca. We pick messages up when we open and will get back to you.
- For swelling that is spreading, trouble breathing or swallowing, uncontrolled bleeding, or an injury from a blow to the face, go to a hospital emergency department. Those are medical emergencies, not dental ones.
- In the meantime: rinse with warm salt water, take the painkiller you would normally take for a headache if it is safe for you to do so, and hold a cold compress against your cheek for the swelling. Do not put an aspirin directly against the gum. It burns the tissue and does not help the tooth.
- If a tooth has been knocked out, hold it by the crown rather than the root, keep it in milk or in your own saliva, and get to a dentist as fast as you can. Time matters a great deal with a knocked out tooth.
Common questions
Are you open on Saturday?
Yes, starting October 3. Saturday walk in hours are 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Before October 3 we are closed on Saturday.
Do I really not need an appointment?
Correct. Walk in during our open hours and we will fit you in. Booked patients are seen at their appointment time, so a walk in may involve some waiting. Calling or texting first shortens it.
How long will I wait?
It depends on the day and on what else is going on in the office. Call or text 519-250-1290 and we will give you an honest answer before you leave the house.
Can you take my whole family?
Yes. We see adults and children, and we can usually arrange family appointments together rather than spread over several days.
What if I have not been to a dentist in a long time?
That is more common than you would think, and it changes nothing about how you will be treated here. We start where you are.
Do you do more than emergencies?
Yes. General dentistry including cleanings, fillings, root canal treatment, extractions, crowns, bridges, dental implants, dentures and night guards, along with veneers, teeth whitening and dental bonding.
